"Nature will bear the closest inspection; she invites us to lay our eye level with the smallest leaf, and take an insect view of its plain". - Thoreau

As a child, I must confess that I spent many a church sermon on a purple velvet pew drawing and daydreaming of afternoons outside.  I love the long days of summer by the water as well as the scenic drive of a two-lane country road.  I believe that beauty is all around us, if we are open to finding it.

I am inspired by the changes in seasons and ocean tides that help us to understand the rhythms in nature and to appreciate that moments in life are never exactly the same.  I enjoy capturing the essence of ordinary objects that evoke an emotion of a place.  I like when I have a loose idea while shooting photography or painting a canvas and  I am able to seize the unexpected that in hindsight was better than my plans.
